Description
These easy Jalapeno Popper Cream Cheese Pinwheels with tortillas are the ultimate party appetizer! Creamy, cheesy, spicy, and loaded with bacon — they’re quick to make and perfect for game day, potlucks, or casual snacking.
Ingredients
- 4 large flour tortillas (8–10 inch)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2–3 fresh jalapenos, finely diced (seeds removed for less heat)
- 1/2 cup cooked, crumbled bacon
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 2 tbsp chopped green onions or cilantro
Instructions
- Prepare the cream cheese mixture: In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and evenly mixed.
- Add the jalapenos: Fold in the finely diced jalapenos, making sure they’re evenly distributed throughout the mixture. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Spread the filling: Lay a tortilla flat and spread a generous, even layer of the cream cheese mixture across the entire surface.
- Roll tightly: Starting from one end, roll the tortilla into a tight log. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
- Chill: Place the rolled tortillas in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up. This helps with cleaner slicing.
- Slice into pinwheels: Using a sharp knife, cut each rolled tortilla into 1-inch pinwheels. Arrange them on a serving platter and enjoy!
Notes
For spicier pinwheels: Leave some jalapeno seeds in or add a dash of hot sauce.
For milder pinwheels: Use fewer jalapenos and remove all seeds and membranes.
Make ahead: These taste even better after a few hours in the fridge, so they’re perfect for prepping in advance.
Use room temperature cream cheese: This ensures easier mixing and smoother spreading.
Sharp knife matters: A clean, sharp knife helps avoid squishing when slicing.
