Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 2 cups pasta (penne, rotini, or rigatoni)
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 ½ cups grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Optional Additions:

  • ½ cup cooked bacon bits
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • ½ cup sautéed mushrooms
  • ½ cup spinach or broccoli

Instructions

1. Prepare the Chicken

  • If using raw chicken, season it with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Cook in a pan over medium heat for 6-7 minutes per side until fully cooked.
  • Let it rest before slicing or shredding.

2. Cook the Pasta

  • Boil salted water and cook pasta al dente according to package instructions.
  • Drain and set aside.

3. Make the Garlic Parmesan Sauce

  • Melt butter in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  • Stir in heavy cream, milk, and chicken broth.
  • Add parmesan cheese, stirring until smooth.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

4. Assemble and Bake

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Mix cooked pasta, shredded chicken, and sauce in a large bowl.
  • Transfer to a greased baking dish.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  • Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use freshly grated cheese for better melting.

Don’t overcook the pasta before baking—it will continue cooking in the oven.

For a crispy topping, add a layer of breadcrumbs before baking.

For extra creaminess, stir in a spoonful of cream cheese or extra butter.
