- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1/4 cup beef broth (optional)
For the Garlic Bread:
- 1 loaf French or Italian bread, halved lengthwise
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Cook the Meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Sauté Aromatics: Add the onion and garlic, cooking until softened (3-4 minutes).
- Season and Sauce: Stir in salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, and broth. Simmer for 8-10 minutes until thickened.
- Make Garlic Bread: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Mix softened butter, garlic, parsley, and garlic powder in a bowl. Spread onto bread halves and bake for 5-7 minutes until crisp.
- Assemble: Spoon Sloppy Joe mixture onto garlic bread, sprinkle with cheese, and broil for 2-3 minutes until bubbly and golden.
