Ingredients
Scale
Peach Filling:
- 4 cups fresh peaches (peeled and sliced) or 2 cans of sliced peaches (drained)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Cinnamon Roll Topping:
- 1 can refrigerated cinnamon rolls (or homemade cinnamon rolls)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Optional Additions:
- ¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- A drizzle of caramel sauce
- Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Peaches
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- If using fresh peaches, peel and slice them. For canned peaches, drain the syrup.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine peaches, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Stir until evenly coated.
- Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to release natural juices.
Step 2: Assemble the Cobbler Base
- Grease a baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- Pour the peach mixture into the baking dish and spread it evenly.
Step 3: Arrange the Cinnamon Rolls
- Open the cinnamon roll can and separate the rolls. If using homemade dough, roll it out and slice it into spirals.
- Arrange the cinnamon rolls on top of the peach mixture, leaving space for them to expand.
- Brush the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle extra cinnamon for enhanced flavor.
Step 4: Bake the Cobbler
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for another 15–20 minutes until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
- Drizzle the included icing (from the cinnamon roll can) over the rolls for extra sweetness.
Step 5: Serve and Enjoy
- Let the cobbler cool for 10 minutes before serving.
- Top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a decadent treat.
Notes
- Use fresh peaches when in season for the best flavor and texture.
- Pre-bake the peach filling for 10 minutes before adding the cinnamon rolls to prevent sogginess.
- Cover with foil for the first half of baking to ensure even cooking.
- Add a pinch of salt to balance out the sweetness.
- Serve warm for the best taste, paired with ice cream or caramel drizzle.
