Description
Chocolate banana crisps are the ultimate blend of sweetness and indulgence. Perfect for snacking or desserts, this recipe features naturally sweet bananas coated in rich chocolate and customizable with your favorite toppings. These treats are not only delicious but also a healthier alternative to traditional candy, packed with potassium, fiber, and antioxidants.
Ingredients
3 ripe bananas
1 cup high-quality chocolate (dark, milk, or white)
Optional toppings: sea salt, crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or sprinkles
Instructions
Prepare the Bananas: Peel and slice the bananas into thin, even rounds (about 1/4 inch thick).
Dehydrate the Bananas: Arrange the banana slices on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Dry in an oven at 200°F (90°C) for 2–3 hours, flipping halfway through, until they are chewy or crispy. Alternatively, use a food dehydrator.
Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler, melt the chocolate until smooth, stirring frequently to avoid burning.
Dip the Bananas: Dip each banana slice into the melted chocolate, coating it completely or partially based on preference. Use a fork to lift them and let the excess chocolate drip off.
Add Toppings (Optional): While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle your chosen toppings on the banana slices.
Set and Store: Place the chocolate-dipped bananas on a parchment-lined tray and let them cool at room temperature or refrigerate until the chocolate hardens. Store in an airtight container.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm bananas for the best texture and flavor.
