- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (200g) brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup (75g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ cup (100g) chocolate chips (optional)
For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 8 oz (226g) cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups (240g) powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

Step 1: Make the Brownie Batter
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until combined.
- Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips, if using.
Step 2: Bake the Brownies
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely before adding frosting.
Step 3: Make the Cream Cheese Frosting
- In a large bowl, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth.
- Add powdered sugar gradually, followed by vanilla extract, and beat until light and fluffy.
Step 4: Assemble the Brownies
- Spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the cooled brownies.
- Slice into squares and serve!
