Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 8 breakfast sausages (pork, turkey, or plant-based)
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (or homemade dough)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (optional, cheddar or mozzarella)

Dipping Sauce Options:

  • Maple syrup

  • Spicy ketchup

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Sausages

  1. If using raw sausages, cook them in a pan over medium heat for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned.
  2. Let them cool slightly before wrapping.

Step 2: Roll Out the Dough

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate into triangles.

Step 3: Wrap the Sausages

  1. Place a sausage at the wide end of each dough triangle.
  2. Sprinkle cheese on top (if using).
  3. Roll the dough around the sausage, pressing the edges to seal.

Step 4: Bake the Pigs in a Blanket

  1. Arrange wrapped sausages on the prepared baking sheet.
  2. Brush the tops with egg wash for a golden finish.
  3. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy

  1. Let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
  2. Dip in maple syrup, honey mustard, or your favorite sauce.
