Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- ½ cup buttermilk
- 1 cup cornstarch (or all-purpose flour)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 cup oil (for frying)
For the Bang Bang Sauce:
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce (optional)
For Garnish:
- Chopped green onions
- Sesame seeds
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
- In a bowl, marinate the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 20 minutes.
Step 2: Coat the Chicken
- In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch, salt, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Dredge each piece of marinated chicken in the cornstarch mixture, making sure they are evenly coated.
Step 3: Fry the Chicken
- Heat oil in a frying pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the chicken in batches for about 4–5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain excess oil on paper towels.
Step 4: Make the Bang Bang Sauce
- In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, sriracha, honey, lime juice, and soy sauce. Stir until smooth.
Step 5: Toss and Serve
- Toss the crispy chicken in the sauce or drizzle it over the top.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For extra crunch, double-coat the chicken in cornstarch.
Air-fryer method: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 15 minutes, shaking halfway through.
Baked version: Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes, flipping once.
Want it spicier? Add more sriracha or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
