Description

Love jalapeno poppers? These Bacon Jalapeno Popper Egg Rolls take the classic flavors of creamy cheese, crispy bacon, and spicy jalapenos and wrap them in a crunchy egg roll shell. Perfect for game nights, parties, or whenever you crave something deliciously indulgent! Serve with your favorite dipping sauce for an extra flavor boost.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 45 large jalapenos, seeded and diced
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked crispy and crumbled
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 package egg roll wrappers
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Optional Add-Ons & Substitutions

  • Monterey Jack cheese for a milder taste
  • Turkey bacon for a leaner option
  • Greek yogurt to lighten the filling

Instructions

1. Prepare the Filling

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and green onions.
  2. Stir in crumbled bacon and diced jalapenos until well mixed.

2. Assemble the Egg Rolls

  1. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape.
  2. Place 1-2 tablespoons of filling in the center.
  3. Fold the bottom corner up, then fold the sides inward.
  4. Roll tightly and seal the edge with a dab of water.

3. Cooking Methods

Frying (Extra Crispy):

  1. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Fry egg rolls in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  3. Remove and drain on a paper towel.

Baking (Healthier Option):

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place egg rolls on a baking sheet and brush with oil.
  3. Bake for 15-18 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Notes

Seal properly – Use water or a cornstarch slurry to prevent opening while frying.
Don’t overfill – Too much filling can cause them to burst.
Cook at the right temperature – Too hot burns them; too low makes them oily.
Use an air fryer – For a crispy texture without excess oil, air-fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6-8 minutes.
